There’s a new storm brewing

After 2012, everyone thought they were safe from an Apocalypse. Nothing bad was going to happen. Then the water shortages began, food began to grow scarce, and prices of everything drove up. The economy began to collapse, and the catalyst for World War III. The war to end all wars, lasting from 2013 to 2017. From there, the world began to burn, burn brighter than a star. On fire, the world fell apart and needed to be rebuilt from the ground up.

No technology. No running water. No easy access to food. Shelter is scarce against the wind. Many animals have gone extinct from the atom bombs. Rivers were red with blood of the dead and sometimes, bones of the dead couldn’t even be buried. The world’s best and brightest were sheltered from the war, but there was no one to let them out in the end in 2018. They had to claw their way out of the wreckage to find the devastated world. Standing on top of ruins, they had to work together.

I’m a walking travesty, but I’m smiling at everything

From there, they realized one thing: there was no government left. There was barely any food and they had no clue who the survivors were. Chaos was left to rule. On top of that, a few of them even began to see people… who would disappear into thin air. The ghosts of the old world were haunting them and they couldn’t outrun the end.

The end is near..

Deep in the center of the broken world lies a small town that no one has seen in a long time. The world was torn apart from their own destruction, their own usage of their own supplies. The supplies for human life began to fall down in supply. The economy tore apart in the end, beginning the destruction of themselves.

World War III began in an attempt to find out who would get the supplies that were left over. Refugees fled cities in terror, and the most brilliant minds were locked away for their own safety. But when looking for the minds that will help a new society, who do you pick?

Do you pick the artists? The surgeons? The lawyers? Which politicians do you want to pick? Who will be the architects of the new world? Would you pardon crooks for a chance to win a war you were losing? These were the questions gambled on, these were the minds picked for the safety that the UN managed to to settle on. Panic raised as certain people realized that there was not enough room in the shelter for all the children.

There wasn’t enough room for everyone.

You build your castles in the sky

The war raged for five years before communication with those underground finally ceased. No more food came in and it took three weeks before their supply was starting to run out. They needed to get out. So they finally broke out to find the world was gone. Stripped away and laid bare for them to begin the ground work to a new world.

The Noveau Monde.

The survivors were what the Saved did not expect. Saved people would find themselves in hostile encounters with the Survivors. The Survivors believe that they should have been Saved due to their skills and pampered like the Saved were for five years. The Survivors had to actively search for their food, they had to actively seek shelter from bombings and they had to work to live. The Saved are a bit flabbergasted anyone could have survived.

Of course, the last thing anyone wants is a Civil War after a World War, right?

Sarcastic, yet oddly fun to be around was always how Katherine was described. Outgoing and friendly while also kind of blunt, she easily made friends. Another thing? Katherine Hampton was a math genius. She exceeded in science and math, often the kind of girl that would be taken up as science partner right away. She might be sarcastic, but she was always kind to people who she felt deserved it. Katherine even held herself back at times for her friends. Nativity often held her back when it came to friendships and the real world. She held a childish ideal that people would be kind and sweet as she was. Reality was something she was never prepared for… 

Her spirit couldn’t be broken. She would often smile and channel her excess energy into dance and singing at the top of her lungs. Sweetheart was Katherine defined. Sarcastic, she often reacted to negativity by quickly putting up a wall. She refused to let anyone tear her down… and perhaps that was a good thing about her. She was also very proud, never believing in anything less than herself. Katherine believed she was very good at what she did and that was why she often excelled. Katherine believed in herself one hundred percent. Confidence drove her to do her best in everything she did, no matter what.

It would be ridiculous not to Save a child prodigy like Katherine Hampton. In fact, with her doctorate, everyone was practically begging Katherine Hampton to join the program. In the end, Katherine’s call was based on her sisters. Of course, she was told anything she needed to hear to make sure she was Saved. Important as she was, it seemed that Katherine was naive enough in politics and believed in the good of people enough to trust the word of several known liars.

As smart as she is… Katherine’s nativity tends to be her downfall. Proud and naive is not a very good mix to have. Finding out that Leia hadn’t been Saved hit her hard, leaving her very confused by the gravity of the situation. She knew there was a very real chance that one of her sisters could be dead. So Katherine resolved to never reveal the information to Taylor, out of the desperation that if she didn’t discuss it, never said the word out loud… Leia would turn up and be just fine.

Tyler Kingston never meant to drop out of school. Tyler Kingston never meant to be torn apart from his family. Tyler Kingston never meant to survive the war. To Tyler, things just kind of happened. He deeply believed in fate and would allow things to happen however they were meant to happen. Whatever is on his mind, he says, without thinking of the outcome of his words. “Shit happens” is one of the rules he lives by. You can’t worry about the past, so he doesn’t. Some people think he’s a stoner by how he acts, but he’s like that normally. It’s just how he acts. 

Tyler can make you laugh, smile and cry all at once. Although he’s not dumb, due to not thinking things through he says some of the most obvious things. It doesn’t take a lot to get him pissed off, and he can drop more f-bombs than a sailor, but he doesn’t care. Tyler likes making people smile, and making people happy. Which is one of the reasons he likes the way he is. He just wanders through life, saying ridiculous things, doing ridiculous things and just being pretty ridiculous. 

Honestly Tyler didn’t know how to survive, and was surprised he did. He is more of a sheep, and upon seeing everyone raiding the stores, it was natural for him to follow. He went from person to person, making befriending them and hanging around with them until by a cruel twist of fate they died or were extremely lucky and got saved. 

Tyler made friends wherever he went, some person finding him lovable and sweet. People mothered him, and he played along. He still believes everything is an act of fate and the war hasn’t really changed him, except he has become a lot more social. One of the things Tyler learned quickly was that it’s not just what you know, but who you know. Although he doesn’t really know where he is trying to go, he will step on anybodies toes to get there.

Born to be a rockstar, Nathan Turner had been playing guitar since he was five years old and could hold the thing. Nathan’s parents could have never predicted that he would play for sold out stadiums, could have never expected a whirlwind romance with Cinderella Lovett, could have never predicted his friendships with Jacqueline Lovett and Lorriane Mathews… and could have never expected Cinderella taking her life was what caused him to spiral down into drinking. Then he met Lynda Kyle, the woman who reminded him how special life was. With the marriage of Lynda… came a fall out between him and Lorraine… and Jacqueline hating Lynda. Several friendships he had melted over the marriage and many of his old friends thought of Lynda as little more than a gold digger.

Nice was the word that many people would use to describe Nathan. He was nice to everyone and it was hard to find a way to make him raise his voice. Around Cinderella was the only time anyone had ever seen him yell and scream. The way Lorraine liked to put was that she made him “come alive”. Rather chill, it was very hard to make Nathan react at all. He was all smiles and kind words. Nathan was also a very good dad, making sure that Music only received the best. He was excited over his daughter, and would have done anything to make sure she survived the end of the world.

Even Nathan isn’t too sure how he ended up surviving. The world broke in half around him, and for some reason… he simply followed Cinderella. As shocking as it sounds, he swears he saw her leading him away from every single wreckage. She showed him where to find food and he simply scavenged where Cinderella swore up and down it was safe. And so he stumbled upon the Nouveau Monde, where she said he’d find his daughter. He trusted the judgement of the Nouveau, putting his faith in the fact that he’d survive this.

At the end of the day, what really impacted how Nathan managed to survive was that he needed to protect his daughter. Music was important to him and he knew that Cinderella would want Music to be safe. How else could he guarantee that his daughter would be okay if he wasn’t there with her? Scavenging might have been hard, but at least he knew that he had someone important for him waiting in Nouveau Monde.

Juvenile hall was where Connor Knightly spent most of his time, from everything from fist fights to lifting random objects. The only reason he managed to land Aurora Woods was because of her attraction to bad boys. While Connor might have been the bad boy type, he honestly was trying to protect Clarissa Knightly from the dangers of the world. Most of the things he stole were either for Aurora or his younger sister. He was eager to make sure the main girls in his life were well taken care of. Things fell apart with Aurora, who decided to run off with Clarissa, in 2015. The result changed Connor into a very angry many.

A short fuse and a loud mouth was the common way you would describe Connor. Of course, Connor wasn’t always like this. He is smart and deceitful, having been honest with only two people in his whole life. He formed a friendship with Charlotte Sutton after a while of talking to her. Charlotte might have been a new recruit, but for some reason, he felt the need to trust her… something he doesn’t always feel. He’s still bitter over Aurora and even will blow a fuse if someone dares to mention her name in public. He has a deep rooted desire to find his sister and bring her back home.

Connor Knightly could outwit the police, fool them at their own games and manipulated people. “Why the Hell should he be Saved,” cried one committee member. Answer: he’s cunning and devilishly smart. Connor might be a thief, but he was useful for finding holes in the laws and getting out of tight spots. It didn’t hurt that he was heartbreakingly handsome. Connor managed to get Saved due to the fact he was clever enough to get out of jail several times over… and with a little extra push from Charlotte, who swore he could be better.

Ever since his break with Aurora and losing his sister, Connor has been a devilish man. He never got the point of even trying to be a decent person once Aurora screwed him over. He even likes to point out that she convinced his sister to brave the world rather than get Saved. He swears that he sees his sister more in town, but he’s far too concerned about appearing normal enough to the people. He doesn’t need another reason for them to hate him. After all, no one likes a thief when the supplies run low…

December fifteenth in 1981 in Austin, Texas was the day a rockstar and a future mother was born. The future lead vocalist for After The Fairytale moved to Michigan when she was six, meeting Lorraine Matthews and her sister, Jacqueline Lovett. She started working hard in the band from a young age, eager to go far. However, around fifteen as the band took off faster than she could have ever expect, Cinderella began to have second doubts. She doubted herself constantly and found herself married to Nathan Turner of Black Doves at twenty. Her life spun faster than she could have ever expected and she didn’t know how to stop it. She gave birth to her daughter at twenty-one and her head begin to spin from the fame.

Vindictive, Cinderella was never the sweet girl that Nathan and Lorraine saw. She got jealous of any girl that looked towards her husband and she would often threaten bodily injury towards them. It left her as a very hard person to get to know. Sometimes cold and often emotionless, Cinderella has retained far too much of her personality. She is known for getting into fights for no reason other than the person looked at her wrong. She is possessive and to her family after her death, selfish. As cruel and selfish as she is, she has a positive side. She often tries very hard to be kind to others and tries to be empathetic. Cinderella spent twenty-seven years trying to be a better person and she is still certain that she needs to be a better person to move on. All she wants is to be better than she is right now.

It was Halloween, a holiday that she had always enjoyed. Yet at the same time, twenty-seven seemed a relatively good age to die. Maybe it was because she was so fed up with the world and she didn’t want to see it ripped apart. It was hard for her to pick out how to die because she couldn’t swallow pills and she wanted to leave her corpse behind all pretty. Vanity had always surrounded her mind and so that left her with overdose. Maybe that’s what encouraged her to go after one last high, maybe that was why she was so eager to end the fast paced life. Cinderella’s spinning head was finally calmed as the clock tolled at midnight.

Maybe it was the music that made Cinderella Lovett happy, maybe she could rely on her daughter for all the happiness in the world. Cinderella never took the hard way. She always looked for the easy way out. She was always eager to get away from the world, get away from the ideals of reality. The concept of reality was far too hard for her. A slight bit insanity and a long time gone, the young girl’s mind is torn too far apart to ever move on. And so here her ghost stands at the end of the world, trying hard to move on.

Never the dangerous type, Alex Presset was a rather shy but sweet child. He never was the type to expect the world to come to an end and even scoffed at the very notion. From a young age, Alex was a skeptic and the kind of person who would look at something from all angles. He’s had a few shocks in his life, most notably when Tieler Kusterbeck told him her secret. In a shock, he dropped Tieler because he wasn’t sure how to handle the news. Alex Presset dove into the world of applied physics after the break up, eager to find out more about what she knew.

Socially awkward is one way to describe him. Few understood why the inhumanly beautiful Tieler gave Alex the time of day. He was often always quiet, hidden away in a library with his nose in a book. He was often the kid who was kicked around a lot and never really paid attention to. Brilliant as he was, he wasn’t able to figure out the way other human minds work. Human mind was foreign concept to the young boy, leading to confusion when he couldn’t understand why people thought that Tieler was off or strange. Alex believes firmly in moving forward rather than moving back.

Applied physics is a difficult concept to master and Alex Presset manages to be one of the leaders in the field as well as the youngest leader in the world of physics. His socially awkward presence did have its own negativity attached to it. It was hard to fight for someone as awkward as Alex to be qualified for the Saved program. Eventually, Presset’s own academia and the recent piece he published in a science journal caused him to be pushed into the Saved program.

Staying was not Alex’s key points in his life. Staying meant that you could get hurt from the other person. Being left behind happened far the young boy and he wanted to avoid getting hurt. He especially wanted to avoid being hurt by Tieler. He had seen what beautiful girls could do to a poor boy’s heart first hand with Leia Hampton. He had been shot down by Clarissa Knightly. He was far used to being tossed around by others and he wasn’t prepared for what Tieler had told him. It was too much and he was too scared… so he walked away. He wanted to beat her to the punch of letting him go.
